DSSTech's home automation system functionalities

Alarm system control

The system allows to protect home from theft attempts through volumetric, magnetic and/or inertial detectors and using commercial internal and external alarms.
It is possible to activate/switch off the alarm system using an electronic key, a numeric keyboard, touch-screen display or through an SMS sent to the GSM device.
The GSM device can inform about the status/events of the alarm system sending back SMS on the mobile phone (for example launch of the alarm signals, entry door open, etc…)

Consumption / Energy saving

Currently the system can supervise the energy spent by each plant, monophase or triphase, which is measured before the electricity meter of the provider. We can display on the touch screen the energy consumption evolution through the day, the week, month or year, also history of previous years, time bands and related rates of the energy provider, power factor and instant operative power of the past 24 hours on a diagram.
If correctly set up with the rates of the energy provider, we can estimate quite precisely the energy consumption of small devices.

Photovoltaic system

On the touch-screen it is controlled and displayed the energy produced by the photovoltaic system. It is measured in an independent and accurate way at the output of the inverter with all the control functions of the system: energy, energy fed in system, self-consumed energy, GSE incentives, percentage of plant productivity, cost and amortisartion time of the installed system and malfunction alarms.
The alarms are also remotely managed on smartphone so you have at all times proper monitoring of the entire plant. The display also shows the curve of productivity's optimization through solarimeter and PV panels temperature sensors.

Audio system

Our audio wired wireless system allows to provide up to 4 different STEREO sources, otherwise 8 MONO sources on each location. Each area controlled by a final device can be reached by the sound of any of the sources and it is possible to settle its volume, its tones or change source.
It is possible to manage all the above options using a infrared remote control on each area.

GSM control

This system allows, using a mobile phone, to control all the automation system sending/receiving advisory SMS (status, alarm warnings, etc…) or control SMS (turn on/off lights, heating settings, etc…). There can be 30 different advisory SMS and 30 control SMS, whose text can be completely created or customized by the user; moreover it is possible to create an unlimited number of advise/control numerical SMS (for example *13*1*210).
On the phone book we can list 10 different telephone numbers; each telephone number can be enabled/disabled to receive or send any of the SMS and its related command function.

Events storage

The system stores all events (scenarios, system advises, rolling shutters, alarm system, devices' controls and SMS) including date and time of each event.
There are 6 different groups of control, and management:

Sequences: to display timetables of the preset scenarios;
System messages: to display technical information about the touch-screen monitor or the automation system control unit;
Rolling shutters: messages about automatic opening/closing of the rolling shutters, awnings, etc… activated by the rain/wind detector;
Alarm system: displays the timetable or area action of the alarm system;
Load controls: displays messages about the devices, start/switch off due to excess of electrical power;
SMS: the system displays the list of all SMS sent to the GSM device.

Scenarios management

This feature allows the easy creation of any type of scenario based on his own needs.
Examples of scenarios: presence simulation, play a movie, turn off the lights at a scheduled time, simulation of peopled home during holiday vacation, garden irrigation at a scheduled time and zones, wake up alarm in the morning, opening of rolling shutters and turning on of music or TV.
Every scenario can be scheduled for a single procedure or on a repetitive sequence at preset frequencies through the year.

Cameras visualization

This function allows to display on the touch-screen monitor a high number of video cameras with an IP address. Each video camera can be associated to a special event which activates automatically the camera. As an example, display the intercom camera when someone rings the door bell, or it may be activated by a presence detector.
The home automation system allows to control all cameras from remote control, this means we can control home through the internet access on any PC, tablet, smartphone, maybe from our holiday location.

Lights

Internal and external lighting control, either ON-OFF or through DIMMER, and outdoor with twilight sensor.
Automatic environments brightness control via light sensor that detects the ambient brightness and keeps it at the desired value by modulating the light intensity. With the addition of a presence detector, the system performs the control described above only if is detected an internal movement.
Time slots management, timers, ignition delays.

Motor control / Rolling shutters

The "Rolling shutter" function allows to control opening/closing of rolling shutters, awnings and motor controlled doors and windows, manually or with the rain and wind sensors.
Besides the single control, the system allows opening/closing of all the doors and windows, curtains and motorized shutters on the plant (total opening/closing) or of only certain areas (partial opening/closing).

Irrigation

It's possible to manage every single irrigation's zone by setting the automatic activation through time slots, personalized by the user (up to 8 time slots for every single zone). When the specific sensor detects that it's raining, the system deactivate the whole plant to avoid useless wastings.

Heating / Cooling

Thehome automation system, through its detectors, measures the temperature and humidity values on each zone and it operates in order to maintain the preset customized values. The functioning modes are: disabled, antifreeze, comfort and time, which can be selected based on the user's needs. For what concerns the actuators, it is possible to control valves, motorized shutters, pumps, air-conditioning units' speed. Moreover, through IR transmitters, it's possible to control most of the common electronic devices obtaining and reproducing its IR signal (Air-conditioning units, heat pumps, etc…).

Load control

The system can measure the instant power used by the plant and if the level exceeds the available supplied power, it will turn off the devices one by one in order of the set up priorities: the objective is to decrease the instant used power so that the electricity meter won't be disabled.

Infrared control

Our infrared signals acquisition modules are capable of controlling the electrical system using a common universal remote control (SONY code). Our IR transmitter modules acquire and reproduce the IR signal of which is equipped the majority of commercial equipment, thus managing to control them through our home automation system from any point of the building.

Radiofrequency

When it is not possible to reach a device using cables (refurbishments, museums, large cement buildings), the home automation system is equipped with wireless modules with a transmitter (powered by batteries) which can communicate the change of status to the receiver.
The wireless modules can be associated to any command or impulse source: switches, sensors, relays, and any command supplied with an electrical contact.
The receiver modules will be interfaced directly to the automation system.
